Word Filled Wednesday

Spiritual joy is:

The settled conviction that God sovereignly controls the events of life for the believers’ good and His glory.  Spiritual joy is not an attitude dependent on chance or circumstance.  It is the deep and abiding confidence that regardless of one’s circumstances in life, all is well between the believer and the Lord.  No matter what difficulty, pain, disappointment, failure, rejection, or other challenge one is facing, genuine joy remains because of that eternal well being established by God’s grace in salvation.  Thus, Scripture makes it clear that the fullest, most lasting and satisfying joy is derived from a true relationship with God.  It is not based on circumstances or chance, but is the gracious and permanent possession of every child of God. -John McArthur

Blessings Heidi,

Speaking about encouragement! This verse and JOY filled sunflowers creatively done is wonderful encouragement!
I’m so thankful that HE has made known to us the path of life, that HE fills us with JOY in His Presence and eternal pleasures! Joy is my word for 2011 and I’m learning how to be filled overflowingly with JOY. So this is the perfect Word for me to start my day, focusing on JOY and not my circumstances or chances ever… thank you for filling me up and your visit… for His JOY is my strength!

Peace and JOY,
Peggy

Oh, this is something I wish I would have learned much earlier in life, and something I wish I could get others to believe. “Spiritual joy is not an attitude dependent on chance or circumstance.” Simply stated, but the truth is so great! Thank you for sharing this, and many blessings to you, my friend 🙂

Hi Heidi,
I love how you define spiritual joy as “the deep and abiding confidence that regardless of one’s circumstances in life, all is well between the believer and the Lord.” It’s the kind of joy we experience whether things are going good or bad, because only then through His power and might do we have the greatest potential to soar, for when we are weak He is strong!

Blessings and hugs,
Denise
